There are three versions of OpenHAB available:

• stable release: better version for stability and security, extensively tested but updated infrequently
• milestone: pre-production beta version, less stable than the "release" but sufficiently tested to be used. It may contain new features, not yet present in the "release" version, updated more frequently.
• snapshot: version not recommended for those looking for stable operation, little tested and updated on a daily basis. Contains all the latest changes made.
